After a lot of work my MIUI gingerbread is finally ready:D

My goal is to provide a clean & fast rom.

With a really close stock look.

Things you need to know about this build.

1. A2SD

A. Based on MIUI-AU script:

*No user interaction

*Automatically puts Dalvik cache on SD Card.

*Automatically handles slow to mount SD Cards and will also allow the ROM to run without an SD card. It gives more space by moving Dalvik cache to SD it provides more internal phone storage.

*Apps get automatically moved to SD card when possible.

*An sd card is not required.

B. How to set up.

*When you want to use Apps2sd create the recommended ext3 partition before flashing the rom.

*Most people use 512Mb and that’s usually more than enough. If you have a 16Gb (or larger) SD Card and you anticipating downloading a ton of apps, then you might want to try 1Gb.

*Anything larger than 2Gb you need to get a laptop and not a phone. If you go over 2Gb you may experience SD Card corruption and the Market will not operate properly!

2.Camera

I recommand to turn Auto focus of in camera settings to avoid crashes.

3.SD speed fix

Use the included sd booster app:)

4. SET CPU

If you want to mess around with set cpu I recommend to remove the screenstate scaling script by removing it in the system/etc/init.d folder.

You can also set higher frequencies in the screenstate scaling script for this just edit the script and change the frequencies.

5. Multi-Lang by default

After some testing speedwise and also the size get not affected anymore by making build default multi-lang this is different compared to froyo.

6.Call recording (thanks to boul69 for poiting out)

Install the latest skvalex's call recorder (on XDA).

and don't forget to allow other phone app (in phone setting, just after DND mode)

7. TV animation

It is off by default> Menu> Settings> personal> display settings.

8.Optimize PPP

For some providers this tweak can optimize the ppp speed.

Go to ''system>etc>ppp'' with for example root explorer;

Open the pap & chap secrets file and put in the following:

(with spaces but without quotes this password and username is the same you normally fill in the apn setup.)

noch gibt UD den (Akku)Ton an. Bin gespannt was noch kommt.

Hast Du auf RMNET umgestellt? Wenn es mit PPP ebenso vernünftig läuft könnte man ja auch mal CLK testen.

Ich habe bisher ganz "normal" standard installiert.

Noch nix rumgeschraubt, denn nur so kann ich einen Vergleich ziehen.

Zuviel Anpassungen verderben den Brei.

Daher läuft auch noch der MIUI Launcher und der kommt eben dem EI-FON Look schon sehr sehr nahe ...

Naja, die anderen (CWM)Roms nutzen RMNET. In der Standardinstallation von MIUI hast Du aber PPP. Du kannst also nicht "richtig " vergleichen. Auf Seite 1 im Thread wird die Umstellung erklärt.

Na, dann ist MIUI in diesem Fall schon mal etwas besser aufgestellt.

PPP ist bei manchen als "schneller" empfunden ... aber da frage ich mich, ob man dies ernsthaft feststellen kann ???

Im Moment lasse ich es mal ohne Eingriff laufen, auch wenn die Umstellung nicht schwer ist.

1 Prio hat im Moment der Akku ... und der lag heute Nach wieder 8 % besser als UD 3.3

Moin zusammen,

bin von TyphooN 3.1.3 auf JW MIUI umgestiegen.

Ich musste mich zwar etwas an MIUI gewöhnen aber jetzt werde ich nie wieder zu Android-Stock ROM's zurück. Finde die ganze Oberfläche viel schöner und durchdachter.

Der Akku-Verbrauch hat mich übrigens auch von den Socken gehauen. Ich habe im Flight-Mode nur 2mA, bei 2G 3-4mA und bei 3G 3-5mA. Dazu muss ich sagen das mich überrascht hat wie konstant diese Werte eingehalten werden (z.B. die ganze Nacht 2mA über 7 Std). Beim TyphooN gab es zwar auch 2mA Bereiche aber halt nicht so konstant.

Zwischendurch gab es immer über längere Zeit höhere Stromverbrauche.

Schön finde ich auch das MIUI für mich alles mitbringt ohne irgendwelche Tools installieren zu müssen. Verzichte jetzt auf Folderorganizer, ChompSMS, PowerAMP, GO Contacts usw...

Ja, man muss sich daran gewöhnen das es keinen App-Drawer gibt und MIUI die neuen Programme wie beim IPhone einfach auf dem Screen ablegt. Dafür gibt es bei MIUI aber das Ordner Widget. Damit kannst Du schön Ordnung auf dem Screen schaffen .
