Notes:

This build is a rework/continuation of MDJ Revolution series

I started this thread, as there was some demand for this to get updated. If m-deejay decides to update his original build, I will discontinue this build

Use this at your own risk. I will not be accountable if this causes you phone to fail, or you lose your data. The backup of your data is your responsibility.

I am a newbie to the android development, so please be patient with fixes and releases; and your help and advice will be appreciated.

Kernel Usage

The kernel used in this ROM is based on MDJ S9.2, and have ported it, and have patched to the latest upstream with a lot of fixes Just to confirm, this kernel was originally S9.2 from MDJ, so up until then all credit is to him

The git is available here, check logs and diffs for the changes made. There is a neat build script to get it compiled for yourself if you want as well in Linux or cygwin. I am using the test branch at the moment.

ROM Links

I have tested an upgrade myself to these releases myself, and have not encountered any problems. But everyones setup is different, the upgrade process may work for you. But would recommend to do a NAND backup before you do. FINALLY, I will not be held responsible if you lose any data.

If you experience any boot loops, then expect at least 2, please report if you do get this, and what was your process, so that I can understand where the problem is happening.

DFT releases have been only included for experimental purposes, I will not guarantee that this works.

The build of this ROM is available here, If anyone wants to have play with this build, then feel free to checkout the repository by running the following command in Linux. This will grab the whole repository onto your machine.

This ROM is based on Revision 32 of the SVN repository

ppp_mode - set PPP or not, valid values 1 or 0 (not for cLK)

gps_zone - zone from pool.ntp.org, values may be uk, us, europe etc... check pool.ntp.org, for all possible values

a2sd_mode - set which a2sd mode you want, possible values, apps, dalvik, data (dalvik is default)

cLK Howto

* Download the attached cLK1.3.1_system_300M_arif-ali.zip or cLK1.3.1_system_250M_arif-ali.zip for SL

* turn phone on with volume down key, so that it is in SPL

* install cLK by double-clicking CustomRUU.exe

* To install recovery download the correct one from post #2 of cLK thread (link above)

* reboot phone into fastboot by keeping the back key pressed

* flash recovery by running "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

How To SL1.4.1 & 2.6.1 (CWM - MAGLDR)

1. Make sure you have partitioned the SD card correctly (ext partition, and a vfat partition)

2. Make sure you have followed the ClockWorkMod Howto to add the recovery to the phone (see links in the thanks/credits section)

3. Download the link above and put it into the vfat partition, maybe in a folder called ROMS

4. Boot phone into MAGLDR by holding on the Red button/close call

5. Select AD Recovery (Option 8)

6. Select Install zip from sdcard

7. Select choose zip from sdcard

8. Select the ROM from the SD

9. Select Yes to install the zip

10. reboot the phone and enjoy

How To SL1.4.1 & 2.6.1 (CWM - cLK)

1. Make sure you have partitioned the SD card correctly (ext partition, and a vfat partition)

2. Download the link above and put it into the vfat partition, maybe in a folder called ROMS

3. Boot phone into fastboot by pressing the back key

4. flash the recovery using "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"

5. reboot phone into cLK recovery by holding on the Home key

6. Select Install zip from sdcard

7. Select choose zip from sdcard

8. Select the ROM from the SD

9. Select Yes to install the zip

10. reboot the phone and enjoy

How To SL1.4 & 2.6 (DFT)

MAGLDR 1.13 is now required

1. Connect phone to computer

2. Reboot phone and press hold the Red (on/off) button, until you get into the MAGLDR menu

3. Select USB Flasher

4. Start the DAF.exe application, and press Next until it tries to flash

5. press green button (call) button on the phone

6. This will now flash the phone and reboot

How To SL1.4 & 2.6 (cLK - fastboot)

1. Connect phone to computer

2. Reboot phone and press hold the back key, until you get into fastboot

3. Run "fastboot flash boot boot.img"

4. Run "fastboot flash system system.img"

5. Run "fastboot flash userdata data.img"

6. Run "fastboot reboot"

7. This will reboot phone, enjoy!!!

Howto apps2sd

By default app, app-private and dalvik-cache are on the SD card, if you need any other option, then follow the below instructions on what you want

* data2sd

Please READ!!!

1. make sure that any app that you do install move it back to the phone, and that will automatically reside on the SD card in the ext2/ext3/ext4 partition

2. For the Revolution 2.6 you need at least 288 MB in /system, so for EU users you need to flash the CWM build with 300MB /system, you can change the flash.cfg from the ClockworkMod and the change it similar to

You can use the attached Recovery_300M.zip instead, which has the files changed, and flash using the attached file.

Known Issues / Bugs

* At first/second/maybe third boot You will get a message "Process system is not responding".

FIX: press the volume up/down key wait 5 seconds, and it will continue to start

was sagt denn der speicher? du hast jetzt erst build, dann ext; was spricht quick system info (market) zB?

Also, ich habe mein ROM mit der CWM-Methode geflasht.

D.h., dass man zunächst CWM auf das Handy bekommen muß und zwar mit dem richtigen Partitionslayout (Für dieses ROM sind es 300).

Was es damit auf sich hat ist hier:

Ich denke mit der von mir gewählten Methode, die auch den Vorteil hat, dass ich aus dem CWM im Anschluß Backups, Kernels nachinstallieren und auch Restores machen kann, ist diese Partitionslayout zwingend erforderlich. Ansosnten kann ich das ROM tausendmal flashen und es ändert sich nichts. Wenn nicht zu Beginn die Weisung gegeben wird, dass ein bestimmter Teil auf der SD-Karte installiert werden muß, dann wird solange auf den Handyspeicher geflasht bis der voll ist.

Über DFT habe ich noch nicht geflasht und da gilt vielleicht ganz was anderes.

Aber wie gesagt CWM hat den Vorteil, dass ich jetzt am Wochenende die neue Version flashen werde und dann mit einem Restore die Daten und Einstellungen zurückspielen kann. Zumindest hat mir der Koch dieses ROMS das so mitgeteilt.

Ich werde dazu gesondert berichten.

Lade dir mal das App Titanium Backup. Dort wird dir genau gezeigt wie sich dein Speicher aufteilt.

In Telefonspeicher + die Ext3 Partition = der bei dir angezeigte verfügbare Speicher.

Nur dieser Verfügbare Speicher ist bei dir im ersten Teil (Telefonspeicher) bereist hoffnungslos voll. So kann das Betriebssystem nicht arbeiten.

Kann ich nicht laden, habe ich schon :-(

Mir zeigt es nur an : intern 860 MB von 1.06 GB frei

SD-Karte 5.18 GB von 14.8 GB frei

Und das Handy arbeitet seit über 2 Wochen ohne Probleme.

@ escalator: sry, falls das bissle anpflaumend klang nich übel nehmen.

Achwo, ich doch nicht. Wenn ich prahlen wöllte, hätte ich gesagt, dass ich überall eine 1 hatte, und weggelassen, dass es nur in Russisch nicht geklappt hat, und ich da sogar eine 3 hatte....im Grundkurs:alright:

So, jetzt noch kurz die Bildchen...zeigt TB irgendwo noch mehr an? Habe auch schon massig installiert, schon alleine die 3 Angry-Birds Games fressen den internen RAM auf, also muss das mit der EXT3 wunderbar geklappt haben.

Dazu kann ich nur sagen, dasss bei mir folgendes im unteren Bereich angezeigt wird:

Intern 112 MB (27,8 MB frei)

Sd-Karte: 14,8 GB ( 6,63 GB frei)

SD-Karte (A2SD): 990 MB (888MB frei)

So sieht das bei mir aus.

Vielleicht hilfts.

Zu Beginn waren bei mir weit mehr als die 27,8 MB frei. Es waren so bei 90 MB. Ich habe alle Apps auf die SD-Karte verschoben. Es dürfte sich um Programmteile handeln oder Daten und Cache der den Telefonspeicher immer weiter vollmüllt.

Ich sehe gerade, dass Escalator ja gar keine Probleme mit zu geringem Speicher hat. Das war ja ein anderes Mitglied.

Von daher ist ja alles in Ordnung.

Aber man kann ja sehen, wenn zwei das Gleiche tun kommt doch was unterschiedliches bei raus.

Ich verweise nochmal auf den obigen Link bei PocketPC. Dort Seite 13. Hier wird beschrieben wie du deine SD-Karte formatieren kannst. Die erste beschriebene Version führst du mit einem über USB angeschlossenem Handy durch. Wirklich Idiotensicher erklärt.

Die beiden Programme die du brauchst sind dort auch verlinkt.

Ansosnten habe ich schon mehrmals gelesen, dass man möglichst nur 1 GB auf ext formatieren soll da es ansosnten Schwierigkeiten geben könnte.

erkännt keine speicherkarte die er formatieren soll.

nur die fat32 partition, da windoze unfähig ist weil es mit der ext partition nichts anfangen kann, da es dieses dateisystem gar nicht erst kennt.

Schön, dass noch immer dieselben Leute online sind. Wir haben offensichtlich nichts Besseres zu tun als uns um unsere Handys zu kümmern.

Ich habe nun das neue Update 2.6.2 draufgespielt und anschließend im cwm ein advanced data restore gemacht.

Nach dem Restart zeigt mir der Display immer wieder "android" mit kurzer Unterbrechung an, startet aber nun nach mindestens 15 Minuten nicht vollends durch.

Wie lange kann so ein Data Restore dauern?

Ist erledigt. Habe vor dem Flashen die Recovery 300 auf 330 gesetzt. Installation des Updates war möglich jedoch kein Data Restore.

Nachdem ich die Recovery wieder auf 300 gesetzt habe klappte auch das Data Recovery einwandfrei.

Du hast das falsche ROM runtergeldaen. Wahrscheinlich das mit ...CWM_LK.zip

am Ende. Dies ist nun wieder für eine Installation über CLK (Fastboot) gedacht. Habe ich auch erst recherchieren müssen.

Du mußt dass darüber nehmen mit ...CWM.ZIP am Ende.

Mit ....7z am Ende ist für die Installation über Nand

aber es geht mir nicht um den rom,die meldung kommt wenn ich magldr boote,dann beim hochfahren steht immer diese meldung mit den kernel,es geht dann aber auch weiter bis die ganze liste kommt,beim usb verbindung klappt auch,aber dann geht es nicht weiter,ich glaube das hat mit den kernel zutun,weil das erste mal als ich geflasht habe kam diese meldung nicht und es hat auch geklappt gehabt.habe schon mehrere magldr runtergeladen aber immer das gleiche.
