Da HTC heute ein Update des Sense-Launcher, im Playstore gebracht hat, haben die Devs der Viper, sich direkt an die Arbeit gemacht:

Ich bin am überlegen diese Rom zu installieren. Gibt es Vorteile gegenüber der Stock Rom von HTC.

Das ist genau wie bei einem Auto. Vom Werk bekommst du es original (Stichwort "Stock Rom"). Entweder du lässt es so, oder fängst an, das Auto zu frisieren und optisch zu verändern, damit es gut ausschaut und noch besser fährt (Stichwort "Viper Rom").

ViperOneM9 2.0.0 is based on 1.40 and having the latest matching firmware is mandatory! Since 1.40.401.5 isn't OTA'd by HTC already, you need to flash the firmware in fastboot.

That requires S-off! Instructions and download links you can find in [MENTION=1102297]Sneakyghost[/MENTION] 's thread here: [2015.05.30] Firmware flashing with Fastboot

Now the BUT:

We added an option in the aroma installer to flash the 1.32 kernel from the previous base. That enables you to use ViperOneM9 2.0.0 without needing the 1.40 firmware.

Still it's highly recommened to update your firmware. Else you will loose some improvements made on the 1.40 base.

Verizon, Sprint and TMous don't need to care about that, all three will still use the old kernel, since there is no new base for those carriers yet.

2.0.0 is available just as Fullrom since its rebased on the new 1.40.401.5 release

Denkt nur daran, dass ihr im Aroma auswählt, ob ihr die neue Firmware (1.40.401.5) nutzt oder noch die alte.

ViperOneM9 2.1.0 ist als OTA oder Full Rom verfügbar. Wer das OTA über das Handy erhalten möchte, muss vorher den OTA Fix aus dem VenomHub installieren, da die Update-Funktion unter 2.0.0 nicht funktioniert.
