Designed for the iPhone 3GS (OS 3.1 and newer) for use with your Autoniq subscription, the Autoniq VIN Barcode Scanner is a free application that effectively reads the VIN barcode on vehicles using your 3GS camera.

This intuitive, easy to use application features:

• an on-screen viewfinder to assist with aiming and VIN placement;

• an enhanced Image Quality Guide indicating image clarity and excellence;

• superior barcode recognition reading VIN’s 10 times per second;

• a help screen linking to the tips page at Autoniq’s website.

Once you’ve successfully scanned the VIN, you can obtain pricing guide and vehicle history information based upon your Autoniq subscription, or copy and paste information into another application or website.

As you use the scanner, remember to:

• Center and Focus the VIN. Try to hold the camera still. Brace your arms against the vehicle for additional support whenever possible. Focus the image by tapping the screen where the barcode is shown in the viewfinder.

• Use the Viewfinder and Image Quality gauge. Use the flashing corner guides of the Viewfinder. Glance at the Image Quality guide to refine placement.

• Be Patient. It will take a few practice scans to master the process.

Don't give up! When you've focused the image properly, it will quickly read the VIN. Once you've gotten the hang of it, you can scan almost any VIN in seconds!
